The new Samsung Galaxy NX has been announced in an event in London. Official press release text can be found at Petapixel, Samsungcamera, A first hands-on report at Photocomment, Digitalcamerainfo, dpreview, engadget, digitalcamerareview and at Imaging Resource.
The new NX in short:
The camera has a 20.3-megapixel APS-C sensor with focus phase detection pixels. This means it has a hybrid contrast and phase detection autofocus system. It has a 1/6000s maximum shutter speed and shots 8.6 fps (Frames per second). It has a powerful 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 2GB or RAM, and runs Android Jelly Bean (4.2.2) operating system. What’s huge is the 4.8-inch touch panel, and the same NX20 viewfinder. But the important part is that this camera has everything what a Samsung smartphone has. Full connectivity (even LTE) and APP support and so on. Price is yet unknown while release is sometimes in summer.
Some said this is a smartphone with a huge camera on it :)
