Samsung talks about the future

There is an interesting interview at Samsungimaging about the NX future. But the most exciting news here is the picture I do post below:

Those are all camera prototypes from Samsung. There is Hasselblad styled camera, a camera with nice old style manual controls that looks like the Leica X1 leathered camera. Only the white model looks really ugly :)

Also Sony goes….pink!

So far only Pentax (with the Kr) and Panasonic (with the GF2) released PINK models. You don’t see them very often and they are also more expensive than the “normal” colored cameras. But now we just received that image of the upcoming new Sony NEX-C3 which we have been told will be available in Black, Silver and Pink! Confess, that’s the news you were waiting for ;)

P.S.:

Fuji X100 gets tested at DPreview!

Dpreview posted their 24 page long Fuji X100 review! Click here to read it: http://dpreview.com/news/1105/11051610fujfilmx100review.asp. The X100 gains an overall score of 73%: “The X100 is an exasperating conundrum of a camera, combining excellent image quality, solid build and a superb viewfinder with sluggish operation and eccentric, buggy firmware. If you’re prepared to put up with its numerous oddities and faults then it will repay you with superb results.“. The real problems for the X100 is that: “perhaps the biggest problem for the X100 is that it’s competing in today’s marketplace with the new breed of compact Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Cameras, and it’s not exactly cheap in comparison.

Another real problem is to find the X100 in Stock. Amazon UK (Click here) changed the X100 delivery status in “Usually dispatched within 3 weeks.” And many other stores do not have it even available for preorder. Check at [shopcountry 100018].

E-PL2 vs GF2 vs NEX-C3 size comparison!

Amazing how small the NEC-C3 is. But I remind you smaller isn’t necessary better. Olympus is much thicker but this happens because they feature they very useful in body stabilization. But I am wondering how small Panasonic will go with the next GF3. Probably sooner or later we will see a camera with the size of the mount only :)

Fuji X100 unboxing video parade

Lot’s of people are having fun with unboxing the X100. Here is a short list of the videos we found on youtube:

That guy has not one but two Fuji X100 cameras (nycphotog2006 on youtube).
Not only the camera unboxing ritual gets on youtube. There is also a lens hood and adapter ring unboxing video (silvergolf on youtube).
Many unboxing videos are fake because the usually the owner already opened the box before to realize the video. But that one is a real unboxing video (ausdlk on youtube)
And this is the first mexican video (pascualrico on youtube)
The X100 also arrived in arab states (OrnsM on youtube)
The dutch unboxing video (AnjuGNL on youtube)

Sony to announce new products on June the 8rd. And than again a Panasonic annoucement!

UPDATE: Announcement is on June 8 not June 3.

Sony will announce the new Sony NEX-C3, NEX 30mm macro lens and NEX flash on June the 3rd! (Source SonyAlphaRumors). And that isn’t all. A couple of days later Panasonic will again announce new Micro Four Thirds products! Also Olympus is rumored to release new m43 lenses in late June. So we are going to have a very busy month!

In summary what’s coming:
– Sony NEX-C3 with 16 Megapixels (549 Euro)
– Sony 30mm f/3.5 macro for NEX (249 Euro)
– New Flash for NEX (no price)
– Panasonic 25mm f/1.4 Leica branded m43 lens (not 100% sure yet)
– Probably a second zoom lens too (not 100% sure yet)
– The Olympus 12mm f/2.0 lens
– A second Olympus portrait lens.

And my “instinct” tells me that also in July we will see some new stuff from Samsung and Sony (yes again!).

P.S.: Panasonic G3 at preorders at Amazon US (Click here) and Amazon UK (Click here).
