New Fuji X PRO 1 reviews and tests (Fuji will soon address the AF issue!)

Dpreview (Click here) just published a short X PRO 1 first impression article: “You needn’t have read this piece from start to finish to see that I’m very impressed with the X-Pro1. From what I’ve seen so far it looks like Fujifilm has avoided re-introducing any of the more egregious oddities of the X100. And while we’ve yet to subject it to our rigorous testing methodology, we’ve not found flaws of the type that plagued the X100. On balance I think it’s safe to say that the X-Pro1 is a camera that gets much more right than it does wrong.
Sounds all good!!! :)

Soundimagesplus (Click here) compared the Fuji with the NEX-5n and GX1: “As you will also clearly see the X-Pro 1 is significantly better than the other two 16MP cameras at high ISO’s.

John Smith (Click here) is also testing the X PRO 1. And he got in touch with Fuji to talk about the AF issue: “called Fuji Canada about this AF problem and Gerry, the person at the camera technical support centre, reassured me that Fuji is working on improving the camera. Firmware updates are on the way. I just wish to pass my thanks to Fuji for its concerns for the customers.I was very impressed by the knowledge and helpfulness that I received. ” (via FujiRumors.com).

(UPDATED) This is not a new Nikon 3D mirrorless!

For over two years Samsung, Sony and Panasonic pushed the whole 3D technology (tv’s and cameras). At the end of the story the consumer response was quite unexciting. And as you may have noticed there is no more that massive 3D advertising anymore. Nikonrumors posted an image that shows a camera with dual lens system. It’s said to be a mirrorless Nikon camera. UPDATE: But it is NOT a Nikon! It is a cyclopital3d camera :)

Thanks to our readers for being so smarter than me and Nikonrumors :)

Sony launches the NEX-FS700. Panasonic to counterattack on Thursday!

We are getting closer to the NABshow in Las Vegas and Sony is the first company to announce a new mirrorless camcorder! The NEX-FS700 you see here on top looks quite..well…unbalanced with that 18-200mm E-Mount lens on it :) Sony missed it to introduce some new high quality NEX zoom lens for filmmakers. With the 18-200mm that camera is pretty much like a Tiger in prison, or a Ferrari driven by Massa or a Djokovic forced to dance ballet :)
That said here is the full press release including specs: Sony Europe. There is no info about the price yet. But early rumors said it would cost around $8,000.

But good for Sony that also Panasonic seems to not be fully awake from the hibernation. Their new 12-35mm and 35-100mm X zoom lenses have been delayed again and will hit the stores by end of summer only. nevertheless Panasonic will introduce a new AG-AF camcorder on Thursday April 5th (yes that Thursday). Also the GF5 will be announced along the new camcorder. But that is not really a surprise anymore as specs and images leaked a long while ago!

P.S.: Canon si going to introduce a new “mini” C300 camera.
