A mirrorless pinhole camera made of wood!

Nowadays we are used to talk about new digital cameras only. But from time to time you still can find some “dreamer” developing film cameras. And the camera you see on top is a 4×5 pinhole camera made of wood! But this isn’t the only one made by Ondu (Click here). They also made 6×12, 6×6, 135 panoramic and a 135 pocket camera version. And if you think this camera will never have a sales success you proved to be wrong. The project already earned five times of the pledged money on Kickstarter. And that in one week only!

Going to buy one? :)

The Fuji X showdown. Two new X mount bodies to come this summer?

As we told you before there will be no new X-E2 and no new X-Pro 2 this year. But according to latest rumors Fuji will focus on the entry level market soon by releasing not one…but two(!) new mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras!

According to Fujirumors the two cameras will have “two different sensors. One should be announced in the second half of June and the other one later. The price of one of these bodies should be of $700.

I think it’s a smart move from Fuji to offer a low priced compact camera with high quality X-Trans sensor. But I am surprised to hear that there will be two entry level bodies! One would be enough or not?

Sony goes full mirrorless! A and E-mount!

Matrix agent’s would say…It was inevitable MR-Anderson! Panasonic and Samsung dropped the DSLR world, Olympus will do it soon. So, what is Sony going to do? According to very reliable sources Sony is going to transform their A-mount cameras in pure mirrorless by getting rid of both the classic mirror and their unique semitransparent (or translucent) mirror tech. Some of you may wonder why at that point Sony is not going the E-mount route only. Apparently the A-mount mirrorless will keep the DSLR form size while E-mount cameras will focus on compact size. Plus, A-mount camera have on sensor stabilization while the E-mount has not.

The first A-mount mirrorless cameras will come in early 2014. Now let’s see how long it takes until Canon and Nikon will get “serious” with mirrorless too!

New Canon EOS-M camera and lens rumors…

It doesn’t sound like Canon want to aim the more advanced segment of the mirrorless market. CR. reports that: “Canon doesn’t have plans currently to launch more EOS M prime lenses, as they see the segment as “entry level”. What Canon could announce this summer is just a new EOS-M camera with a new 18-135mm zoom and another telephoto zoom. Canon truly doens’t want to hurt his own REBEL sales. But is that the right approach?

That happy Fuji rep is holding a yet not announced new Fuji camera :) The Swedish website Cyberphoto (google translation here) claims that the cameras hold by that smiling Fuji rep is a new model that Fuji will announce this summer: “unfortunately, we can not say whether it is compact or SLR. What we can say is that no current model is changed without Fujifilm expands its range. More information will come.

Of course they did blur out the camera to make us more nervous :) But it’s easy to guess that this will be the rumored new X entry level system camera!
