Fujirumors just posted that image of the new Fuji X-E2 camera. If the image is real than there is really no major optical difference between that one and the predecessor. Here are also some more specs:
X-E2
16mega pix
3 inch screen
Lens modulation optimizer
0.08 sec autofocus speed
Exr II
XQ1
4 optical zoom
12 mega pix
12800 Max I so
F1.8-4.9
0.06 sec AF
Reminder: The XQ1 is a compact and fixed lens camera!
Nest week we will have a triple announcement: On Wednesday the A7 and A7R Sony Full Frame E-mount cameras, on Wednesday the ultrasmall Panasonic GM1 and on Friday the new Fuji X-E2. What we also learned today is that Olympus will announced a new high-end compact with 1:1.7 inch sensor on October 29. Here are some new info:
Sony A7 and A7r:
1) AF is faster than the RX series but still not as fast as the best in the mirrorless world
2) A7 and A7r have focus peaking
3) eye tracking AF
4) they are about same size as the Olympus OMD series
5) There is an optional vertical grip
6) They have Wifi and NFC
7) no Tri Navi, They had scroll wheels in front and back (which were very much like nex-7?s) and an exposure comp wheel from RX1.
8) One source the body quality is very good and the camera had a Pentax LX feeling.
9) 1/8000 shutter speed
10) both have tiltatble screen
Panasonic GM1:
1) Same GX7 image processing engine and sensor
2) built-in Wi-Fi
3) Touch panel
4) New 12-32mm lens has about the same size as a 14mm f/2.5 lens
5) Body quality is very high (like the GX7)
6) Size is as small as the Panasonic LF1 or Sony RX100
Olympus (XZ-3?):
The mini OMD looking fixed zoom lens camera will be announced on October 29. I am yet not 100% sure about the sensor size but it should be 1/1.7 inch like the one used by the current Olympus XZ series. I call it mini OMD because it will look like a small OMD (and yes it has a built-in EVF in the middle). Reminder: The Panasonic Gm1 and 12-32mm announcement will happen next week on October 17 at 5-6am London time.
If you wondered why Apple doesn’t make any professional camera here is the answer: because it would look like that UGLY special Leica M camera designed by Jony IVE! Anyway, if the goal was to somewhat “make a difference” than hell he achieved that goal! And it’s all for goo because as ThePhoBlographer reports “this one-of-a-kind Leica M is going to be auctioned off at Sotheby’s on November 23rd, and the money will go to The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.“
And that’s very noble!
There are plenty of new mirrorless camera to come soon. The ultracompact Panasonic GM1 will be announced on Thursday (October 17). The new Sony A7 and A7r FF E-mount cameras will be unveiled on Wednesday October 16 and the new Fuji X-E2 on October 18. Here are some more tidbits about the Fuji camera (via Fujirumors):
1) the WiFi on the X-E2 will have more options as the WiFi on the X-M1 (what option would you like to have?).
2) it will have face detection as the X-M1.
3) the Q menu moved to another, better position (where would you like to have it?).
4) video mode will be improved and allow full manual control.
5) no tilt screen / no touch screen.
6) the second generation X-Trans sensor with phase detection AF
7) faster EXR II processor
8) better LCD
Obviously the X-E2 will almost exactly look like the X-E1. I wish Sony would use the Fuji design team for their FF mirrorless camera design :)
Samsung announced the NX300M which adds a 180 degrees flip screen. The previous model had a 90 degrees flip screen. This is the only new feature of the camera. Not really a big story if you consider the competition is coming out with a X-E2 (FUji) and A7 Full Frame (Sony). I hope Samsung’s big stuff is coming soon too (maybe in Januray?).

Sony will launch their first Full Frame E-mount photocameras on October 16. And it looks like Sony’s goal was to price the new cameras as low as it gets! Here are some info:
The A7 has 24Mp and on sensor PDAF. It has a built-in EVF (middle of the camera) and is weather sealed. Price should be around 1600-17000 Euro/Dollars for the body and close to 2000 Euro/dollars with the 28-70mm FE kit lens.
The A7r has a 36MP sensor. Like the A7 it has a built-in EVF (middle of the camera) and is weather sealed. price is around 2,300-2,400 Euro/Dollars for the body. No info on the kit price.
The A7 and the A7r have exactly the same look but a different sensor. All current E-mount lenses will work in crop mode on these cameras. The new Full Frame E-mount lenses coming along the camera are the 24-70mm Zeiss (not sure about the aperture but it could be f/2.8), 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5, 35mm f/2.8 Zeiss and a 55mm f/1.8 Zeiss.
It may be that more high end FF E-mount cameras will come in early 2014 already!
