Shipments of cameras throughout the yard remained on par with the previous two years. A clear sign that the whole market has bottomed out and we can finally stop worrying about the camera market going to be killed by smartphones :)

Sony and Panasonic will have two product announcement events on January 8th. This will be mostly focused on home appliances and automobile news. But we might get some new camera/lens gear too:

• Sony could announce a new FX camcorder (FX6 or FX9 successor)
• Panasonic is likely going to announce a new 100mm f/2.8 L-mount macro lens

So far Canon and Nikon have not announced any press event for the CES show.
