The “everybody wins” TIPA award announced

As usual with the yearly TIPA award every photo company got to win a least one prize. They made up so many different categories for that goal! Don’t know how everyone can take them seriously…

Perhaps the only real news here is that for the first time in years Samsung won no prize. Obviously because Samsung pulled out of the market last year.

What’s coming as next: Sony A9, Fuji X-T2, Olympus E-PL8…

Today the NAB show officially started in Las Vegas. As expected there was no new mirrorless system camera announced. Just camcorders…

Still, there are some exciting cameras to come soon!

In May Olympus will announce the new E-PL8 (not really exciting)
In June/July Fuji will announce the new X-T2 (much more exciting than the Olympus announcement)
In June/July Sony will also annonce what could be considered to be the very first PRO mirrorless system camera the Sony A9 (super exciting!)

Nikon and Canon are more likely to introduce their premium mirrorlesss system cameras at Photokina. But still no reliable info if those cameras will eb Full Frame…

Zenit is really back! First images of their new Zenitar 50mm f/0.95 FF E-mount lens!

Back in February I reported how Zenit would come back “to make luxury devices, analogous to the Leica”. Well it really didn’t take a long time for them to show us their first product. These are the first images of their new Zenitar 50mm f/0.95 lens!
This is the E-mount version but Gavriloart reports other mirrorless system mounts will likely be supported too. I guess MFT and X-mount camera owners can certainly expect to get this lens in their respective native mounts.

There is no info about price, detailed specs and shipping date. But I will keep you updated as soon as I get more info about it!

Fuji will announce the new X-T2 by end June-early July

Solid source at Fujirumors confirmed the X-T2 will be launched the last week of June or early July at latest. And here are some specs hints:

EVF refresh: it’s going to be the same or better, possibly with the Pro2 matching it after a firmware update. Bear in mind the T2’s will be larger.
Continuous burst: I’m told the preproduction T2s have a deeper buffer; I’d expect that to be updated on the Pro2, too.
AF: ditto
Touch screen: I’ve been told preproduction units don’t have one, and I’ve been told they do. This is the only aspect of the whole camera that my sources haven’t been consistent on. I’ve not noticed Patrick speak much about a touch screen, or anybody else, so I’m assuming there won’t be one.
Dual cards: obviously it will have two slots.
