Tamron says they can easily do lenses for the future Canon and Nikon Full Frame mirrorless cameras

The folks over at Dpreview posted a nice interview with the Tamron managers. They talk a lot about their new Tamron 28-75mm FE lens. And they repeated multiple times that developing lenses for mirrorless system will be their main focus from now on. They also said something exciting for those who want to buy into the future Canon and Nikon FF mirrorless system:

Everybody is going to mirrorless. Canon and Nikon will launch full-frame mirrorless cameras, probably in the near future. When this happens, we can easily make Canon and Nikon versions of our [native] E-mount lenses. The same design could work for [multiple mirrorless mounts].

I guess Nikon and Canon should be happy to know that Tamron is ready to make lenses for their new system. The Sony FE lens system is quite large by now and they will need every help they can get!

Canon has registered two new mirrorless system camera codes

Nokishita reports that Canon has registered two codes that should stay for two new mirrorless system cameras. It’s unclear yet if these codes are for the current APS-C mirrorless or if they are for the future new Full Frame mirrorless cameras.

Is this the first (fake?) image of the new Zenit D1?

Back in September we reported that the russian company Zenit was working on a rebranded Leica SL Full Frame Mirrorless camera. Today this image of the Zenit D1 appeared on the web. The camera is rumored to have the following specs:

– Full-frame CMOS image sensor with a backlight resolution of 42.4 MP without a low-frequency optical filter.
– 50-25.600 ISO
– Announcement within the next days

But so far we got no confirmation this image or specs are real. It might be a fake made by that russian website?

Fuji interview at Dpreview. Says “80% of GFX users are non-professional”

Dpreview interviewed three Fuji managers. There are many topics in this interview but I am going to highlight too

Fuji GFX:
– Overall, GFX sales have exceeded our predictions.
– 80% of users are non-professional, and 20% are professional. That was a surprise.

Fuji and video:
– Fuji wants to move more into the high-end video world

I am really surprised to hear 80% of the current GFX owners are amateurs. This is an expensive camera and I didn’t think so many non-professionals would buy that camera. And we know from previous rumors that they will launch two new GFX cameras within the next 12 months:

1) A new rangefinder styled GFX camera with he same 50MP sensor will be announced at Photokina. It should be priced just below $5,000
2) A new 100 megapixel GFX camera will be announced at Photokina in may 2019. This one should cost around $10,000.

Let’s see how those two new cameras will sell. That 100 megapixel camera sounds promising also because it has a BSI sensor and on sensor phase detection pixels.

Few new info about the future Fuji 200mm f/2.0 lens

This year Fuji will release this superfast 200mm f/2.0 XF lens. Fujirumors just got a few tidbits about it:

Fujifilm had to re-design their current teleconverters, because they are only designed to work down to f2.8. Hence, for the start, Fujifilm will sell the XF200mmF2 WR also bundled with the new 1.4x Teleconvert (but not the 2.0x TC) for about $6,000.
The source also told us that the Fujinon XF200mmF2 OIS WR will introduce a brand new anti-reflection coating to reduce flare.

The lens will also be White and not Black (as displayed on the CP+ show).
