The new Panasonic Full Frame mirrorless system camera will have a new mount and a Panasonic designed sensor

Panasonic is going to announce a new Full Frame mirrorless System camera on September 25 at 12:30 Berlin time. We don’t have a lot of info about this camera yet but this is what 43rumors has learned:

  • It has a new Panasonic designed mount
  • The sensor is made by Panasonic and it’s not “borrowed” from current Sony FF sensors
  • The camera will start shipping out in March 2019
  • The camera is said to have high video quality

I wonder…will Olympus join this system? And what lenses will be on the roadmap?

Photography is a simple game, at the end Canon always wins

Image on top shows the current best seller list at Amazon US (note, it changes hourly). EOS-M50 sells well despite lack of lenses in their lineup.

Some of you may remember Gary Lineker’s famous quote:

Football is a simple game. Twenty-two men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans always win.

Well, I think that after all that Sony E and Nikon Z buzz Canon will stand as the real big winner when they will announce the new FF mirrorless on September 5. I mean it seriously, I saw the impressive sales of their EOS-M50 even tough there are literally only three lenses you can buy for this camera. Their brutal force is their brand name and therefore I think:

Photography is a simple game, at the end Canon always win.

UDPATE: This is not about being pro or against Canon. This post is only to say that now that we have more or less three similar FF camera systems with Canon-Nikon-Sony most people will choose for the brand that has the most glorious history in the past 20 years.

Here you have the leaked EOS-R specification PDF file!
