Three new E-mount cameras to be announced very soon!

It was weird to see Sony not announce any new cameras back at Photokina 2018. Nikon, Canon, Panasonic had launched their first FF mirrorless cameras and Sony reacted with zero products. I guess they went back to the table to discuss what they could do to fight back. And finally we are going to see their answer:

Nokishita reports that Sony will launch three new E-mount cameras very soon. SonyAlpharumors reports that the first two cameras will be announced in late August with another camera announcement likely to follow in September/October.

There is no info about WHAT they might announce: But these two cameras would despereitely be needed: A7sIII and A6700!

New DJI patent discloses they might be working on a cheaper Hasselblad X1D clone…

Gizmodo Japan has found a new DJI patent that shows a Hasselblad X1D clone. As you likely know DJI now owns the swedish company. So my guess is that they might announce a cheaper DJI branded version for the Asian market.

PetaPixel reports

The only differences we could spot is an articulating LCD screen, and a slightly different button layout on the back that includes a joystick. Otherwise, these two cameras could legitimately be twins.

Here are the patented images:

Multiple announcements starting from late August!

We will now have 2 weeks of relax before the companies will start to announce their new products:

Panasonic:
Panasonic has scheduled two press events. One in late August (likely for the 24-70mm f/2.8 S) and on in September (SH1 release and new MFT camera)

Sony:
Sony will announce two new cameras the last week of August. These will not be the A7sIII or A9II. So expect RX or APS-C cameras instead.

Canon:
Canon will announce the new 70+ Megapixel EOS-R camera in September

Olympus:
Olympus will announce the new 20 Megapixel E-m5III in September/October

Nikon:
No info about new Z camera releases. I guess we will see some new S lenses….by the way when will we get the 58mmf/0,95 monster?

Fuji:
Fuji will announce the new X-PRO3 in September/Ocobter

Sony will announce three new cameras within 1-2 months including a new High End E-mount model

Sony has registered three new camera models in Asia:

1) A new low-mid level camera with 2.4GHz WiFi (code WW594724)
2) A new low-mid level camera with 2.4GHz WiFi (code WW642826)
3) New High End camera with 5.8GHz Wifi first introduced with the A7rIV (code WW942051).

Expect those camera to be announced within 1-2 months. SonyAlphaRumors reports there will be an announcement in August already!

It’s unclear what these cameras might be. The entry level cameras could be new RX models. The High end camera could be the A9II or A7sIII or the A6700 if Sony hasn’t forgotten they have an APS-C line :)
