Oh look what’s coming back: Two Sony APS-C cameras to be announced in late August?

The past years Sony has mainly focused all efforts on developing their Full Frame system. But not everyone likes to spend $2,000+ for a camera or a lot of money on BIG and EXPENSIVE FE glass.

Finally it seems like a glimpse of reason struck the Sony managers: SonyAlphaRumors reports that in late August Sony will launch two new APS-C E-mount cameras. One of them will be the A6500 successor. There is no info about the second model.

No specs are rumored yet but would it be too much to ask to get a Fuji X or Olympus OMD alike body??? Something that’s not a pain in the butt…ergonomically speaking?

Blackmagic has announced the new EF-mount Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K

Blackmagic has announced the new EF-mount Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K and you can preorder it for $2,495 at BHphoto. Blackmagic writes:

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K features a Super 35 size sensor, 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO up to 25,600 for HDR images and incredible low light performance. External controls give quick access to essential functions, while the large 5 inch touchscreen makes it easy to frame shots, focus accurately and change camera settings. Features include built in SD/UHS‑II or CFast 2.0 recorders for Blackmagic RAW or ProRes recording as well as a USB‑C expansion port for recording externally to disks, plus EF lens mount, built-in microphones, XLR input, full sized HDMI, 3D LUT support, Bluetooth and more.

This will be the first of the many late summer Camera/Lens announcements: Panasonic might announce new S lenses on August 14

We are going to get a ton of new cameras and lenses in August/September! And now we know where all will start:

I just got word that there might be an official Panasonic event on August 14. No details yet about WHAT will be announced. But there is a chance we might get the 24-70mm f/2.8 S lens…

After the Panasonic announcement we will have Leica and Sony announcements in August. With Nikon-Canon announcements happening in September too!

You fools! Why spend $10,000 on the Fuji GFX when you can have a Xiaomi phone with 108 megapixels? :)

Today Dpreview published the full Fuji GFX100 review. And of course it scores great! Dp writes:

Why spend $10,000 on great Fuji mirrorless when you can have shitty cramped 108 Megapixel phone?

Seriously folks, I am all in foor a nice Megapixel race but I bet that 108MP on such a small phone sensor is worse than having 12 large Megapixel on my iPhone :)
