Olympus has announced the “unexciting” E-M5III and E-PL10

Today Olympus announced the new E-M5III and E-PL10 cameras. And these are surely decent cameras but offer no real major additional features. The risk is now that  Nikon (Z50) and Fuji (X-PRO3) will rob the scene to Olympus. I would have  hope to at least  see a new sensor…but niet…Olympus thought  otherwise.

I think this conservative approach will not help Olympus  dramatic financial situation. They have to be bold  again!

Preorders:

Nikon Z50, 58mm f/0.95 NOCT and other MAJOR Nikon Announcements – the DSLR killer?

The Art of Photography:

Nikon has announced no less than 5 new products today. We have the MB-N10 Battery Pack, the Nikon Z50 APS-C DX mirrorless camera, the NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f3.5-6.3 VR, NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f4.5-6.3 VR and of course the big boy – the NIKKOR Z 58mm f0.95 S Noct.
What does this mean for Nikon? Of course the $8,000 lens aside – the Z50 shows a commitment in the DX mirrorless space and a huge step forward to competing with the Fujifilm X-T3 and Sony a6600 cameras. Is it enough to get users to switch?
