The Japanese website Asahi reports that Nikon is ending the production of cameras in Japan and moving all production to Thailand.
This is simply Nikon’s attempt to cut costs as much as it gets. Don’t think this is enough to make them stay in the business. Troubling times for Nikon :(

But when are those kind of sensors to a mirrorless camera? Not any time soon for sure. The problem is that you would have to launch a completely new line of lenses designed for those sensors. Your “older” lenses designed for flat sensors would not work anymore.
I know Sony had such a prototype lens and some patents some years ago. I guess an RX fixed lens camera using such a sensor may be coming in 2-3 years…

Sharp posted a new image of their 8K Micro Four Thirds camera. But they still don’t say when this camera will be for sale. All they write is that this cameras is still “under development”.
