In a bold statement Mr. Kazuto Yamaki promised the launch of several innovative products in 2021. I hope that with that he means we will finally get that Full Frame Foveon camera!

CES: January
11-14 CES (Consumer Electronics Show).This year’s event will be held online

CP +: CP +,
Will be held from February 25th to February 28th in Yokohama.

The Photography Show / The Video Show:
A photo and video event for beginners and professionals in the UK from March 6th to March 7th . This year as a virtual festival only. Canon, Olympus, and Fujifilm are also listed as event sponsors.

CHINA P & E Is
it’s like CP + in China. It was scheduled to be held in April last year, but looking at the official website, it has been postponed to the spring of 2021, and it seems that the date has not been decided yet at this time.

PHOTONEXT:
Photographers & Photo Business Fair to be held at Pacifico Yokohama from June 15th to June 16th .

WPPI: August 15-19 This
event focuses on weddings and portrait photography, which is normally held around the end of February at the same time as CP +, but this year it has been postponed to August.

Broadcast equipment exhibition to be held in Beijing ,It seems that it is scheduled to be held locally so far, but details have not been posted yet.

IFA:
Consumer Electronics Show in Berlin , September 3-7 . 

IBC:
Europe’s largest broadcasting equipment exhibition to be held in Amsterdam , the Netherlands , September 10-13 . We can expect the announcement of professional equipment such as camcorders and cine lenses, but since “Cine Gear Expo” and “NAB” will be held in the fall this year, big video events are concentrated in the fall. The safety and health guidelines will be updated in March and May.

Cine Gear Expo: September 23-26,
a completely cinema-friendly event at Paramount Studios in Hollywood. It is usually held in May, but this year it is held in September. 

NAB: October 10th to 13th * The exhibition will start on the 9th. The

Olympus Completes Transfer of Imaging Business

Tokyo, January 4, 2021 – Olympus Corporation (“Olympus”) concluded the transfer of its Imaging business to Japan Industrial Partners Inc. (“JIP”) on January 1, 2021. The final transfer was based on the definitive agreement both parties signed on September 30, 2020, which included details of the arrangement. With completion of the transfer, OM Digital Solutions Corporation takes over the Imaging business from Olympus.

Heads of sales and marketing and R&D for imaging products will be relocated to the headquarters of OM Digital Solutions Corporation. Production will continue at the facility in Dong Nai province, Vietnam, where imaging products have been manufactured since 2008. OM Digital Solutions Corporation will continue to provide customer support for the imaging products which have been manufactured and sold by Olympus.

”OM Digital Solutions Corporation will develop and introduce unique products to create new value while continuing to provide high-quality, highly reliable products, including the Zuiko and OM brands, which are grounded in optics and digital imaging technologies cultivated by Olympus over many years as well as IC recorder that combines advanced digital voice and sound recording technology with comfortable operability,” said Shigemi Sugimoto, Representative Director and President of OM Digital Solutions Corporation and former Imaging Division Head of Olympus..
