Sony’s “VLOGCAM ZV-E10” took the top spot in the mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera series sales ranking for June 2024. We look back on the mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera market in June 2024 from the “BCN Ranking,” which compiles actual sales data from electronics retailers and online stores.
Following the No. 1 VLOGCAM ZV-E10 is the Canon EOS R50, which has maintained second place since January 2012. The company also has the EOS R10 in third place, meaning that two of its products are ranked in the top three. The top three products have remained unchanged for three consecutive months since April 2012.
New to the top ten is Fujifilm’s FUJIFILM X-T50. This new product features an appearance reminiscent of a classic film camera, and it got off to a good start in sixth place since its release month.
Sony’s α7C II is the only full-frame camera to make it into the top ten. It dropped one rank from sixth place last month to seventh place.

First info about the medium format X100VI clone: New 28mm lens design?

Fujirumors has gotten first solid info about the new fixed lens medium format camera coming in 2025:

Well, guided by our sources (THANKS), we can now say with certainty that it will be a 28mm equivalent lens. So the lens itself will give you a wider field of view than what you find for example in the lovely Fujifilm X100VI. It will be an f/3.2 lens, hence f/2.5 depth of field equivalent in full frame.

I personally love the idea of having a wider 28mm lens. We don’t have any other specs yet but my guess is that it will basically have the same GFX100II specs. Hope the price will not be too crazy high for this one.

Japan: Digital camera market share First half of 2024

BCNranking shared the tip manufacturers share on the Japanese market:

Fixed lens cameras: Kodak 28.3%
DSLR system cameras: Canon 73.5%
Video cameras: DJI 45.2%
Action cameras: GoPro 40.2%
Interchangeable Lenses: Sigma 18.2%

A couple of interesting notes:

  • Kodak is taking the compact camera market by storm thanks ot their affordable cameras. Actually those are chinese made cameras with Kodak just selling their name to them.
  • DJI is leading the video segment mainly thanks to their new and excellent DJI Osmo 3

Big surprise folks! Our rumor turned out to be true and the Nikon Z9 and Sony A1 the new Canon Flagship model is not High Resolution and High Speed model.

The R1 has a 24MP sensor and looks more like an updated Canon R3, which is rather disappointing. It surely is a superb sports photographers tool but not a jack of all trades. Will we ever see a Canon model above the R1 that has a high resolution sensor?
