50 years ago on Christmas Eve in 1968, Apollo 8 astronauts Frank Borman, James Lovell, and William Anders orbited the moon and were the first to see this incredible sight.  This view of the earth rising above the lunar horizon was a new perspective for the astronauts and everyone on earth.
