Interesting: Fuji claims the GFX uses a newly designed sensor which is different from the Hasselblad X1D

I read this a couple of times today and didn’t believe it at first. But now even Dpreview reports this:

Despite the obvious similarities to the imaging chips used in the Pentax 645Z and other cameras, Fujifilm is insisting that this is a new, Fujifilm-developed sensor.

I don’t know if that’s just the marketing hyping some very minor Fuji tweaks on the sensor…it sounds economically not feasible to make a sensor that is in the core different from the “classic” 50MP Sony sensor which is used also by the Hasselblad X1D.
