Based on current rumors, Canon is expected to announce several cameras and lenses in 2025. Here’s a summary of the anticipated products:

Cameras:

  1. EOS R3 Mark II: An updated version of the EOS R3, expected to feature enhanced autofocus capabilities, improved image stabilization, and faster processing speeds.

Panasonic rumored to announce two new cameras soon!

On December 17, Panasonic registered a new camera model in China with the code “P2305A.” Earlier, on November 22, they had registered another camera, “P2307A.” This suggests that Panasonic is gearing up to release two new cameras within the next 3–4 months.

For clarification, these codes are not for the upcoming G97 or TZ compact cameras, as those only support 2.4MHz. The newly registered models support 5.1MHz as well, indicating something more advanced.

My guess? We might be getting both the SR1II and the S1HII. That would be exciting, wouldn’t it?

Canon took the market share lead in Japan

BCN has published the market share data for the Japanese market for October. Canon has overtaken Sony and now leads the rankings. And these were the top 10 best-selling cameras:

  1. Canon R50
  2. Sony ZV-E10II
  3. Canon R10
  4. Sony ZV-E10
  5. Sony A6400
  6. Nikon Z fc
  7. Panasonic G100D
  8. Nikon Z30
  9. Olympus E-P7
  10. Sony A7cII

Curiosities:

  • The Sony A7cII is the only Full Frame camera in the top 10
  • Sony shares little love for APS-C…but they sell hot :)
  • Only in Japan Micro Four Thirds still sells

First Fujifilm GFX100RF Specs: No IBIS, GF35mmF4 Lens and Coming March 2025

Fujirumors spilled out the first details about Fuji’s first fixed lens medium format camera:

  • Name: Fujifilm GFX100RF
  • 100 Megapixel
  • No IBIS
  • GF35mmF4 Lens
  • Coming March 2025 (it’s unclear if this is the date for the announcement of for the shipping… or maybe even both? I will let you know if I figure that out).

I really wonder if this camera is going to sell well….what do you think?

Oh, you’re late to the party: Sony’s first full-frame camera announcement of the year will be in November!

Oh yes… I’d forgotten all about that one company! After a lame year, Sony will finally announce a new full-frame E-mount camera at the end of November. I don’t know what’s coming, but there are two options: One is expensive (Sony A1II) and one is more affordable (Sony A7V).

Along with this new camera, Sony will probably also announce a new lens… maybe the crazy 24-70mm f/2.0 GM we heard about months ago? Either way, we still have about a month to go and I’m sure more information will come out before the announcement. What do you make of this? Is there anything you’re eagerly awaiting?
