New Leica D-Lux 8 is coming in May/June and compete with the Fuji X100VI. Those are the specs!

Well folks, you might be able to get a new Leica D-Lux 8 before the Fuji X100VI is in Stock :)

That’s because Leica is rumored to announce the new D-LUX 8 in May/June already! Here are the rumored specs:

  • 24MP APS-C sensor (no more Four Thirds sensor like the D-LUX 7 had)
  • integrated EVF
  • new zoom lens (spec unknown yet)
  • 1600 Euro pricing (which is 200 Euro less than the Fuji X100VI)
  • same minimalistic design of the Leica Q3
  • Announcement May/June and availability soon after

I am surprised to hear that they will use a zoom lens. I would have imagined them going with a prime lens! But definitely the craziest part of the rumor is the pricing…less than the Fuji? What do you think about those specs?

Leaked image and specs of the new Sigma 50mm f/1.2 lens

On top you can see the REAL first leaked image of the new Sigma 50mm f/1.2 lens. It looks nearly exactly like the current Sigma 50mm f/1.4. It also has the same 72mm filter size like the f/1.4.

Sigma 50mm f/1.2 lens specs:

  • 38g lighter and more compact than the Sony 50mm f/1.2 GM (Sigma weights 740g and the Sony 778g)
  • The size and chassis is about the same of that of the Sigma 50mm f/1.4.
  • 72mm filter size
  • The lens aperture has 13 blades (50mm f1.2 GM got 11 only)
  • More affordable than the Sony
  • Comes for Sony E and Leica L
  • Announcement on March 26

Surprise: Sigma will soon announce a new “compact” Full Frame autofocus f/1.2 prime lens!

A source just some more info about the next lens that will be announced by Sigma within the next few weeks:

  • It’s a portrait prime lens
  • it’s f/1.2
  • autofocus
  • lighter and more compact than any autofocus lens from the competition!
  • price below the Sony 50mm f/1.2 GM, and below the Canon 85 and Nikon 85 competition
  • Coming for both Sony E and Leica L mount cameras

What do you think about this lens? This could be winner lens if it’s indeed that small…

Leica officially registered a new D-Lux 7 fixed lens compact camera successor!!!

Leica officially registered a new camera in China. Leica registered it with the code “Typ 3952A”. And we know what this means because the Leica D-Lux 7 had the code “Typ 3952”. So it’s pretty obvious that this will be a new successor! The D-Lux 7 has been announced back on Nov 20, 2018 and it featured a 17 Megapixel Four Thirds sensor with a fixed 24-75mm f/1.7-2.7 lens. The D-Lux 7 was co-developed with Panasonic which had their own version named Lumix LX100II.

This new D-Lux should be announced within the next three months but we don’t know what the specs will be. My guess is the following:

New D-Lux spec speculation:

  • New APS-C sensor (no more Four Thirds sensor like the first generation)
  • New 18mm fast prime lens (no more a zoom lens like the first generation)
  • Similar Leica Q3 minimalist design
  • Price close to $2,000

This is the official registration act spotted by E8M on Weibo.:

What do you think…will this camera sell hot like the current Fuji X100VI and Leica Q3 cameras?

HOT news: End of March Sigma will announce a super fast Full Frame prime lens for Sony E and Leica L cameras!

Sigma is finally going to announce that is super exciting! According to my very best source Sigma will announce a super fast prime lens by end of this Month! I can’t share the final specs yet but this is what you can expect for sure:

    • It’s faster than f/1.4
    • It’s Full Frame
    • It has autofocus
    • It’s coming for both Sony E and Leica L-mount
    • Announcement end of March

Hopefully soon I can fully share the lens specs…

Panasonic registered two new camera in China: One should be the S1RII, the other one a new FF compact and the GH7?

E8M on Weibo spotted two more new camera registrations from Panasonic (we now have a total of three registered cameras). Usually this means that Panasonic will announce those cameras within 2-3 months. All three cameras do support dual band Wifi (5.1 and 2.4 GHz). The dual band support usually is a sign for a mid to high end level camera.

Camera 1: Panasonic S1RII

I am certain one of the cameras is the new Full Frame S1R camera. I told you that my trusted source told me that Panasonic and Leica co-developed the just announced SL3. And the agreements says that Panasonic will announce their High res camera only a couple of months after this camera…with same sensor and similar specs. The S1RII will have better video tough.

Camera 2: new compact FF L-mount camera?

I am uncertain what we can expect from the second model. Panasonic openly confessed they are thinking about a more compact L-mount Full Frame camera. So this could be an option.

Camera 3: GH7 MFT camera?

It’s also clear that we are in dire need of a new GH7 MFT camera.

Hopefully my sources can soon tell me more about both cameras! If you know anything about those cameras drop me an anonymous message using this contact box (kindly use a nickname to recognize you in future). Or contact me at mirrorlessrumors@gmail.com.
