Fujirumors leaked these first images of the new X-T4! it has IBIS, 4k60p, fully articulating screen….what else do you want from a camera? Fuji nailed it!

  1. 26 MP sensor of X-T3
  2. dual SD-Card slot
  3. new sub dials (see below)
  4. flippy screen (see below)
  5. deeper buffer
  6. a bit thicker
  7. no 6K
  8. 2350 mAh battery
  9. battery looks almost the same like the Nikon EN-EL15b
  10. Fujifilm X-T4 looks almost identical to the Fujifilm X-T3
  11. Fujifilm X-T4 has basically the same grip
  12. Only real noticeable difference, is the flippy screen instead of tilt screen
  13. Fujifilm X-T4 has still an exposure compensation dial. No top LCD like X-H2
  14. there will be exactly the same amount of buttons of the X-T3, and in exactly the same position
  15. however, the buttons will be marked differently (comparison below)
  16. the sub-dials will have different markings, too, such as “Video”, “Still” and also “HDR”
  17. af Assist Lamp moved a bit higher
  18. the X-T4 is a bit bigger than X-T3. You gotta fit that huge battery and IBIS in the body ;)

Sony will “only” announce a new 20mm f/1.8 G lens and a fixed lens camera :(

Sony is really dam good in pissing off all of those millions of keyboard heroes (like myself) that are desperately waiting for a nw A7sII successor. And that’s why will NOT get this camera :) On February 25 Sony is rumored to announce a new 20mm f/1.8 G lens instead.

There might be also some sort of fixed lens camera but that’s not what we really want anyway right?

French website leaked the first Canon EOS-5R images!

A french website mistakenly published the first photos and info of the Canon EOS-R5 camera. Basically Canon is going to make a Development announcement tonight. The camera will be ready in Summer 2020. Here is the google translated text:

A technological war machine, the EOS R5 is the first hybrid camera announced with an 8K video mode. To this first is added the stabilization of the sensor (a first for Canon) or a burst at 20 frames per second.

Canon seems to have understood that these EOS R and EOS RP were not really technologically advanced. As a result of which he takes out of his hat a development announcement that is fun to read. The EOS R5, which is expected to arrive later this year, will be the first “serious” package in the RF mount. The little that Canon has agreed to share is enough to make you salivate.

In the front row, there is the video, 8K! A world first in the world of consumer cameras. An unprecedented skill that would allow Canon to take back the king of video, lost during the transition to 4K for the benefit of Panasonic and other Sony.
Canon does not advertise any frame rate, compression (codec), etc. You’ll have to wait for the launch announcement to learn more.

The other big news is the arrival of mechanical stabilization of the sensor, a first for Canon. This lack of stabilization is partly responsible for the poor ratings we have given to the EOS R and EOS RP.
According to some information leaks, mechanical stabilization alone would save up to five speeds. Coupled with the optical and electronic stabilizations included in certain optics, this mechanical stabilization could allow gaining up to eight speeds.

Then Canon announces an impressive burst of 20 frames per second in electronic shutter, as with the Sony A9, and a burst at 12 frames per second in mechanical shutter, like sports cameras from Canon and Nikon (1DX Mark II or D5) .
Leading performance we hope followed by level tracking algorithms. Let’s also hope that the buffer is generous so that the “sport” potential is not restricted.

Eventually, the EOS R5 will have two memory card slots, which will change from early models limited to one card – sometimes even placed in the battery compartment, like the EOS RP.

The rumor scale down begins: Fuji X-T4 does not record 6K and the Canon EOS-5R is not coming before second half 2020

The two most hyped cameras of 2020 are the Fuji X-T4 and the Canon EOS-5R. Well both might have been a tiny bit over hyped because we now learned:

  1. The Fuji X-T4 will not record 6K as previously rumored (FR)
  2. The Canon EOS-5R might not be unveiled tonight and most certainly will arrive the second half of 2020 only (CR)

You see Sony? They are trying to help you out and give you some more time to release the A7sIII :)

Leaked images of the Galaxy S20 Ultra with 108 megapixel sensors!

I always thought mirrorless was the future but apparently it’s not the system cameras but the smartphones that better represent this new future! Here are the leaked images of the Galaxy S20 Ultra which is capable to take 108 Megapixel images. UPDATE: Now announced and you can preorder it now on Samsungs website.

Yeah I know it will not match the clean performance of the Fuji GFX100. But computational photography is getting better every year and at some point these smartphones will be good enough for 99,999% of your shootings.
