Canon concept mirrorless camera by David Riesenberg (Click here)

Canon released the Q1 earnings call and included some info about the future strategy. Canon says that they will launch compact cameras “offering the image qualities that approaches SLR cameras, with improved design and network connectivity features“. This sounds like they are clsoe to launch the interchangeable mirrorless system. And that word” approaches” may give us the hint that they will use the Four Thirds sized sensor of the Canon G1X.

Sony didn’t manage to keep the secret on the new upcoming new cameras. Their Malaysian press event is now all over the web :)

18-200mm f3.5-6.3 OSS in black going to be announced in summer.

The until today very unkown chinese website Yangcanggih (Click here) leaked a full set of picture of the new NEX-F3 that is going to be unveiled in mid May. Cpmpared to the NEX-C3 the camera looks like to be thicker due the new 180 degree tiltable LCD screen. Plus a new grip. Looks like Sony miniaturization war is over! That is going to be an interesting day today! Here on top you can see the very first picture of the Sony NEX-F3 that is going to be announced in about two weeks. It’s a 16 megapixel camera with 180 degree tiltable LCD screen and built-in flash (a nice addition over the older NEX-C3). That sounds like a great camera for an entry-level mirrorless camera! But we also have some news for you reach guys!

If the rumors we are getting are correct than we can expect a new Sony NEX stuff announcement in mid May! Sony will announce the new Sony NEX-F3 and a new zoom lens. The current NEX-C3 is already discontinued at BHphoto (Click here). I have no specs about the zoom lens yet but I have been told it will not be spectacular :(  Too bad, I reall like some of the NEX cameras but there are only two lenses I really like. The 50mm f/1.8 and the Zeiss 24mm f/1.8. I want more of them!

Leicarumors posted some more buzz about the next Leica May 10 announcement. That’s the stuff you may will see:

• Leica X2 with 18Megapixel sensor.
• 50mm f/2 Summicron-M lens for $3,300.00.
• New M camera with Black and White sensor and LCD screen

I really like the idea of a Black and White M camera but I suspect Leica will (as usual) sell this camera as a sort of special edition charging some $$$ extra :(

Latest rumors from our friend at Leicarumors are suggesting that on May 10th Leica will announce a sort of special camera with black and white sensor. It will have same M9 design but there are also extreme rumors saying that it will not have an LCD screen at all! Damn, how should we check the pictures we take? :)

The sensor has a very clean/noise free high-ISO capabilities and wild rumors say that this is actually a Sony made sensor.
