Pentax Spain (Click here) will launch a new product on June 1st (yes, that’s alreayd next week!). We posted many rumors about possible new Pentax mirrorless cameras. This may be the right time to finally see a new K-01 alternative (and cheaper) model!

This has been a busy week with two new lens releases, the Olympus 75mm and the Panasonic 12-35mm X lens. But more lenses are going to be announced within the next weeks and months. Finally Sony will release a new NEX lens and it will be the 16-50mm f/3,5-5,6 OSS G pancake(!) zoom! Coming in June. Olympus 60mm f/2.8 macro is also due for this summer and the Panasonic 35-100mm f/2.8 X lens is rumored to be priced around $1,600. It will be announce din late August.
And according to our sources also Samyang and one more company are ready to launch new mirrorless lenses in June. So it’s going to be a nice lens time while we expect Canon and Panasonic only to launch a new camera too!
Rumors about the Canon mirrorless camera are getting stronger. Sources from IndianTimes at MirrorlessRumors and Canonwatch wrote that Canon will go Nikon’s way with their new mirrorless camera design. The camera will have a modern look and remind in many ways the Nikon V1 (picture on top of this post). The Canon will in no way remind any past design and not go the same route of the Fuji X PRO 1 (rangefinder style) or the Olympus E-M5 (DSRL alike design). But unlike Nikon Canon will use a large Four Thirds sized sensor like the one used for the GX1.
Canon announcement is scheduled for June. So stay tuned! As I told you yesterday there is a lot of new stuff coming soon!

Last week the new Sony NEX announcement, yesterday we had the new Panasonic 12-35mm announcement and soon Olympus will announce the 75mm f/1.8. So, can we have a rest now? No! We are now pretty sure that Samayang will have an announcement too! They will release the first lens (or lenses?) for the Fuji X system. I have no info about the lens specs yet but we will know more about it very soon!
P.S.: There is also a coming Panasonic G5 announcement, probably a Canon mirrrorless system announcement, maybe a Nikon 1 high end camera announcement…You will not get bored in these days!
After Canonwatch also Canonrumors are receiving indications about a possible mirrorless release in June. There are no info about possible specs and lenses. You may have some to share? :)
Rumors are getting stronger and stronger and it looks like we are now getting into very busy weeks! This Thursday (on May 17th) Sony will announce the new NEX-F3 and 18-200mm Black NEX lens. Right after Panasonic will announce the new G5 and very likely release that long awaited 12-35mm and 35-100mm X lens. And it is not finished! Also Olympus will launch the two new m43 lenses (60mm macro and the 75mm f/1.8). What else? The real suprise could come from Canon. Australian rumors said that the biggest and last non mirrorless company will launch two new cameras and three new lenses in June. Is it true? We shall see!
P.S: I expect Nikon to release a “high end” one camera as next, but I am not sure when they will announce it.
The British Journal Of Photography (Click here) talked with Mr. Kaufmann (the Leica Boss):
“When asked if such a new camera could include high-definition video recording features, Kaufmann said that “theoretically, yes,” adding that there are some issues with introducing video in a camera – “the data rate, the heat, and the battery lifecycle, but I think we solved that. No comment until we show it on existing and new models.”He added: “HD video is interesting, and a lot of photographers would love to have it [in an M body].”
Leica already said in the past that they are working on mirrorless cameras with electornic viewfinders. Could also be that they will include the video recording future in such a camera and not in the M10!
