Three new prime Zeiss for NEX and Fuji X to be announced soon?

Sounds like the Sony NEX and Fuji X camera owners can soon be very happy! Zeiss is likely to going to announce the three new prime lenses for the E and X-mount system. As you know all three lenses will have full electronic aperture and focusing support. And all lenses will be priced a little bit above $1,000 (or 1000 Euro).

The lenses will be the 12mm f/2.8, 32mm f/1.8 and 50mm f/2.8. Announced in April and likely available in store this Summer. As a reminder, Zeiss said that there will be no Micro Four Thirds mount version. Also the lenses will not cover the Full Frame sensor area. This may be an interesting news for Sony users because Sony will launch the Sony NEX-FF in 2014.

Upcoming Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, Canon and Olympus announcement info.

After Photokina we had a long quite time with no major mirrorless camera release. This is about to change and at least five companies (but I think there will be more) have scheduled some sort of product announcements within the next 6 weeks:

Sony: Sony will launch the new NEX-7n in early April. it will have a High Resolution 3.8 million dot EVF and new 24 Megapixel sensor. There will be new E-mount lenses too.
Panasonic: Two new MFT cameras could be announced, likely the GF7 and G7.
Olympus: Still not sure yet but latest rumors say that the new E-P5 may be announced in April with availability in June-July
Samsung: NX-R could be announced in March. It still has to be seen if that High End mirrorless will feature a FF sensor or not
Canon: New EOS-M camera with integrated viewfinder and 24MP sensor.

But according to veyr latest info also Zeiss, Fuji and Pentax-Ricoh will announce some new stuff in April!

Hot time coming! Be prepared!

Is that the first image of the new Samsung NX1100?

Samsung NX1100
One of our sources (Thanks) just sent us that image that could be the new Samsung NX1100. Samsung is also rumored to have a big announcement soon with a new NX-R and NX30 coming too. It could be a very big time for Samsung and maybe also the right time for a Full Frame mirrorless?

One more news for German readers: the NX300 will be delivered – at least in Germany – with Adobe Lightroom (Source: Colorfoto).

New Canon EOS-M with integrated viewfinder and 24 MP?

The first rumor of the new week is about Canon. Those may be the specs of an upcoming new EOS-M model:

  • 24mp APS-C Sensor
  • New generation AF system
  • DIGIC V
  • Removable Electronic Viewfinder (Very high resolution)
  • Optional grip attachment
  • 5fps
  • Slightly larger than the current EOS M
  • Introduced with 3 more lenses
  • $999 USD

I think it’s more a wishlist than a real camera :) But if true than Canon really aims to play in the same league of the Sony NEX-6 and NEX-7 and the Fuji X-E1.

Patent: Nikon 18mm f/2.8 DX lens for mirrorless.

A fake Nikon camera rendering made by Mike Kobal.

Nikonrumors posted the link to the Patent Number 20110080659 filed by Nikon on September 30th. It describes the characteristics of the 18mm f/2.8 DX lens (28mm equivalent) that could be used by the upcoming APS-C compact and fixed lens X100s competitor.

And people is having fun designing the possible Nikon camera. The image on top is from Mike Kobal! :)

The other image was that one (but with an erroneous interchangeable mount)

Japanese Magazine camera roadmap speculation for all companies.

The popular Japanese Magazine “Nippon Camera” published their product roadmap for 2013. It’s based on their own sources and speculations. This is their mirrorless camera list:

Canon: New EOS-Me in July
Nikon: New Nikon 2 in August
Sony: NEX-3n and NEX-7r in March-April. NEX-9 in August
Olympus: E-P5 in April. E-M7 in August.
Panasonic: GF7 in March, G7 in August, GX2 and GH5 by end of the year.
Ricoh: GR Digital V
Fuji: X-M1 in April,X-PRO 2 in July and X-E2 in August.

Nice roadmap but I think only half of the things are correct. NEX-9 is coming in 2014, NEX-7r is named NEX-7n according to my sources. GH5 sounds a bit weird and X-M2 is also unlikely to come :)
