Tony & Chelsea Northrup tried to predict the future of photography. And if you watch the video from 21.30min you will hear quite a statement from Tony. He believes the Nikon 1 and Canon EOS-M system are de facto just as dead as the Samsung NX system. He believes Fuji X, MFT and Sony E-mount will be the only mirrorless systems to survive within the current shrinking digital camera market.

For Tony and Chelsea the future of photography lies in Instagram, AI, Wearables and other “non classical” platforms and technologies.

Nikon registered a new camera in Indonesia. The new camera has the code “N1514”. We don’t know what this camera is. But once registered it doesn’t take long to see the camera announced (usually 1-2 months).

This could be the first “serious” mirrorless system camera from Nikon. This means FF sensor and maybe even F-mount(???).

The Official Nikon word is that the Nikon DL compact will ship on June 30. But according to info we got from dealers it’s more likely that those cameras will start shipping in late September or early October at best!

The bad news goes one because we also heard:

• No major Sony E-mount or RX camera announcement in June
• Olympus E-PL8 launch delayed til late Summer
• Shipment shortage of current models will hit us soon

The Sony Kumamoto sensor facility damage will have sever consequences for almost all companies.

Fujirumors reports that Fuji is developing a new 8-16mm f/2.8 WR lens. The lens is likely to hit the market in 2017 only.

Amazon China: just listed the new 30mm macro f/3.5 lens. I expect an Olympus announcement to happen within the next couple of days. It’s also possible Olympus will finally unveil the enw E-PL8 and the new 25mm f/1.2 PRO Zuiko…
