Debunking a fake news about Sony A7 strategy…
Just a quick head-up. A “certain website” wrote that Sony’s next A7 mark III camera will replace both the A7II and A7sII. I saw that “rumor” going aroudn the forums and social networks. This is just a heads-up to say that this rumor is 100% wrong. Sony will continue to keep the two lines well separated.
It’s unconfirmed yet but the Sony A7III is likely to hit the stores this summer. While the A7sIII will feature a somehow “improved” body design with larger body and dual card slot.
Canon will announce a new “EVF-DC 2” viewfinder in February. New mirorless camera also likely….

Nokishita confirmed that Canon will announce a new external viewfinder in February: It’s the EVF-DC2 and it will be available in Black and Silver. It’s also highly likely that Canon will either introduce a new EOS-M camera or/and a new high end compact camera.
What’s next: Lenses from Olympus, Panasonic, Sony and Fuji!
If you wonder what’s coming next from the big mirrorless system companies the answer is quite easy: Lenses, lenses and again lenses!
- Fujirumors reports that a new XF 8-16mm f/2.8 is going to be launched after the upcoming 80mm macro lens
- As reported yesterday Sony will launch a new 16-35mm GM, 85mm budget and later on new telephoto FE lenses
- Panasonic will announce full specs and pricing of the three Leica branded MFT lenses they displayed at Photokina
- Olympus will release new fast primes and new fast telephoto lenses this year
Also Canon will release new lenses but it’s unclear what exactly is going to be announced…
Sony’s next FE lenses will be a 16-35mm f/2.8 GM and a new budget 85mm FE lens

As reported on SonyAlphaRumors Sony is very focused on the launch of new FE lenses. As next we should get a new 16-35mm f/2.8 GM and a new 85mm f/1.8 FE. There will be also some new telephoto lens this year too.
We are still a bit left on the dark when it comes to talk about new Sony cameras. But a new A7 mark III and a new High End E-mount camera are likely to be announced this year.
Japanese magazine speculate new Pentax M-E camera may be launched this year
A Japanese magazine made a 2017 “prediction”. And they are confident Pentax will launch a new M-E mirrorless system camera with ASP-C sensor. Of course I would like this to become truth but so far the magazine has a very bad prediction track record :)
Those are the specs of the rumored mirrorless Canon 6DII clone
CanonWatch is certain that Canon will launch two version of the same specced camera: A Canon 6dII with mirror and OVF and one without mirror and with EVF. The specs will be:
- All new sensor, rumored to have 28MP
- Dual SD slots
- Tilting LCD
- Touchscreen
- DIGIC 7
- Aiming for a sub $2000 USD body only price
- DPAF
- Possibly 4K in some capacity
- Wifi, NFC & Wireless charging
