Few new info about the future Fuji 200mm f/2.0 lens

This year Fuji will release this superfast 200mm f/2.0 XF lens. Fujirumors just got a few tidbits about it:

Fujifilm had to re-design their current teleconverters, because they are only designed to work down to f2.8. Hence, for the start, Fujifilm will sell the XF200mmF2 WR also bundled with the new 1.4x Teleconvert (but not the 2.0x TC) for about $6,000.
The source also told us that the Fujinon XF200mmF2 OIS WR will introduce a brand new anti-reflection coating to reduce flare.

The lens will also be White and not Black (as displayed on the CP+ show).

Another no-rumor: Nikon FF being tested in the field :)

Seeing how the Canon FF mirrorless “no-rumor” went viral I will make up one too:

Nikon is testing a new Full Frame mirrorless system camera in the field :)

Do I have that from a source? Of course not. It’s just obvious they are doing this right now in order to be ready for the late 2018-early 2019 launch. At that point I do welcome real sources to share the possible specs of this new Nikon FF mirrorless camera. My safe bet is that this will have a new 40+ Megapixel sensor with a lot of on sensor phase detection pixels. I am sure both Nikon and Canon understand that autofocus performance is the key. And the autofocus has to be work same on native and adapted F and EF lenses to make it easy for current DSLR owners to make the switch.

In general I doubt Nikon and Canon are after the Sony basis. Their goal is to make their own current DSLR user basis switch over to their own mirrorless system.

No-rumor: Canon FF mirrorless being tested right now

There is a no-rumor going wild on the web. It says something every idiot knows by now: Canon is testing a Full Frame mirrorless prototype :)

No specs no release date are known. That’s why I call it a “no-rumor”. Because it’s OBVIOUS Canon is testing a camera like that after having told to everyone that they are officially working on a professional mirrorless camera.

Wake me up when someone has some specs to share. Would love to know how the new mount will be, and what specs the camera has. Have you heard anything about that?

Is Google buying Lytro for $40M?

Techcrunch reports:

Multiple sources tell us that Google is acquiring Lytro. One source described the deal as an “asset sale” with Lytro  going for no more than $40 million. Another source said the price was even lower: $25 million. The stage of the deal also is not clear.

I wonder what Google plans to do with Light field cameras….

Sony-Olympus rumors and Samsung dreams

We got two new lens rumors:

1) Sony will announce a new 24mm f/1.4 FE GM lens soon (probably within 2-3 months) via SAR
2) Olympus will announce a new 14mm f/1.4 MFT lens at Photokina. via 43rumors

And Samsung is back with some big claims: They want to dethrone Sony in the sensor business (Source: etnews.com). Samsung is known for making bold statements. 8 years ago they said they wanted to become number one in the mirrorless world and now they even don’t make cameras anymore :(
