Wrong Canon FF mirrorless specs posted by Canonrumors

Canon FF rendering by David Riesenberg

Canonrumors posted so claimed specs of a Canon Full Frame mirrorless. Our sources told these specs are completely wrong (those are the same sources that shared the first leaked C700 images last week). CR said:

  • Look & Feel: large grip with top LCD, very comfortable to hold; dials are very similar to those we found on the EOS 5D Mark IV.
  • Side articulating screen
  • Sensor: Upgraded version of the EOS 5D Mark IV sensor, obviously includes DPAF.
  • Frame rate: 10FPS
  • Silent shutter and 1/16000sec shutter speed is available
  • Focus control is very similar to EOS 5D Mark IV’s 61-pt AF system.
  • Dual SD card slots
  • Video Features: C-Log 1/2/3, Focus Guide
  • Formats available: 60p/30p/24p 4K (both DCI & UHD can be chosen).
  • FHD 120p
  • Weight: not very light, but similar to Sony A7 but a bit larger due to the big grip.

Note: Of course rumor sites can make mistakes! And in our 9 years of work we did 2-3 such wrong rumors too. No offense taken CR. But in this case I am 99,99999% sure those specs are NOT real!!!

Canon has registered two new mirrorless system camera codes

Nokishita reports that Canon has registered two codes that should stay for two new mirrorless system cameras. It’s unclear yet if these codes are for the current APS-C mirrorless or if they are for the future new Full Frame mirrorless cameras.

Is this the first (fake?) image of the new Zenit D1?

Back in September we reported that the russian company Zenit was working on a rebranded Leica SL Full Frame Mirrorless camera. Today this image of the Zenit D1 appeared on the web. The camera is rumored to have the following specs:

– Full-frame CMOS image sensor with a backlight resolution of 42.4 MP without a low-frequency optical filter.
– 50-25.600 ISO
– Announcement within the next days

But so far we got no confirmation this image or specs are real. It might be a fake made by that russian website?
