NEX-6 gets DxOmarked.

DxOmark (Click here) published their NEX-6 sensor test. And yes…it has the same sensor as the NEX-5r and NEX-5n. And Photographyblog tested the new NEX-5R: “While it looks almost identical to its predecessor, the new 180° tilting LCD screen, faster hybrid auto-focusing, wi-fi connectivity, downloadable apps and a more refined interface make the NEX-5R a great mid-range mirrorlesscamera.

My guess is that Sony will bring a new NEX-7 successor as next. And I think it’s going to be a sort of update like we had from the 5n to the 5r!

P:S.: You can save a small $30 on two Demo NEX-6 on eBay US (via Slidoo).

Double Canon EOS-M review.

CameraLabs posted the final EOS-M review: “The slow AF even with native lenses, lack of viewfinder options and limited native lens catalogue at the time of writing rule out our top rating, but it remains a solid beginning to Canon’s mirror-less compact system camera line and one deserving of the Cameralabs Recommended Award.

And our friend Frank from CanonWatch is about to make a one month travel through Myanmar with his EOS-M camera. Check it out!

P.S.: A s a reminder. New EOS-M lenses will be announced in February-March. I have no info about a new camera yet…

The “rangefinder-alike” battle: NEX-6 vs Fuji X-E1. And Panasonic GX2 will not have an EVF :(

TheCameraStoreTV posted this Fuji X-E1 vs NEX-6 video comparison. Fuji and Sony are the only companies making mirrorless with rangefinder alike design (not real rangefinders like Leica is doing). And coming back to rumor we just heard that the new Panasonic GX2 may is coming in Spring 2013 and it will NOT have a built-in viewfinder. Let’s hope this isn’t true! At leats it’s my opinion that Panasonic should make it with integrated EVF!

Sony RX1 ISO tests show impressive performance!

Today is Sony RX1 day! The first Full Frame compact camera ever made is finally shipping in Asia (for example at Amazon Japan). And it may not be casual that today two first professional ISO tests have been posted on Focus Numerique (translation here) and on Imaging Resource. And the first thing you will notice is that the RX1 beats the other usually not so goo HIGH ISO images from other Sony cameras like the A99. It is on par with the best FF of the class (like the Nikon D600).

Looks terrific!!!

New reviews roundup (X-E1, Gh3, PEN, Sony 35mm lens).

We got many new reviews and here is a roundup of the most important ones:

Digitalcamerainfo posted their full GH3 review: “The Panasonic GH3 is the Micro Four Thirds system all grown up, and it’s hard to argue that it’s not the best mirrorless system camera to date. While we’ve seen impressive performance from other bodies like the Sony NEX-7, and incredible styling and control in the Olympus OM-D E-M5, the Panasonic GH3 brings all of that together with some exceptional video quality to boot.

ePhotozine is the first website posting the full Sony 35mm f/1.8 E-Mount lens review. The lens gets marked as “Highly Recommended” for the following reasons: “Sharpness is very good from maximum aperture, and can even be considered as outstanding as the lens is stopped down.Other optical anomalies, such as CAs, falloff and distortion are also kept well in check, plus the light weight and compact dimensions of the lens should make this an ideal addition to any serious NEX camera owners kit bag. The addition of optical stabilisation can only enhance the appeal of this lens.

Photographyblog (Click here) just published the full X-E1 review. It gets Highly Recommended by the reviewer: “The Fujifilm X-E1 feels even more like the natural interchangeable lens evolution of the incredibly popular X-100 camera than the X-Pro1 did, offering refined, intuitive handling, fantastic image quality, premium build quality and five high-quality lenses on launch.
