Olympus E-P5 and in Japan the E-PL6 announced!

Olympus officially announced the new E-P5 and for Japanese market only the E-PL6. Full roundup of links to tests and early hands-on can be read at 43rumors (Click here). There is not much to argue on the nice E-P5 improvements (like ISO 100 and 1/8000 shutter). But it’s a bit pity that the body only is priced at $1000 or 1000 Euro. And if you want a kit version you have to only get it with the (nice) new VF-4 viewfinder. Would have been kind from Olympus to allow us a bit more “freedom” when choosing our needed kit (for example camera+lens without viewfinder option).

A great news is that finally Olympus launched the 17, 45 and 75mm Black primes lenses. And unlike the previous 12mm Black Limited Edition the new Lenses costs the same as the Silver version. Well done!

Zeiss officially unveils the two “Touit” lenses for the Sony and Fuji mirrorless systems.

Zeiss finally unveiled the specs of the new 12mm f/2.8 and 32mm f/1.8 Sony NEX and Fuji X mount lenses. They also gave the new range lens a name of a bird…”Touit“. Not really sexy :)
Both lenses should ship in June while a third lens (the 50mm f/2.8 macro) will come in late 2013. You can read all about the new lenses at lenses.zeiss.com.

Ricoh GXR marked as “discontinued”.

A couple of days ago a store manager told me how the Ricoh GXR was a nice concept but at the same time “selling poorly”. And today a huge store like BHphoto marked the GX3 as discontinued (Click here to see it). Let’s hope this may be a sign that a new successor is on the horizon. The worse case scenario would be that Ricoh…no wait I won’t even write that. Go Ricoh, show us the new model!
