Apple Designer Jony Ive designs an UGLY special Leica M for charity.

If you wondered why Apple doesn’t make any professional camera here is the answer: because it would look like that UGLY special Leica M camera designed by Jony IVE! Anyway, if the goal was to somewhat “make a difference” than hell he achieved that goal! And it’s all for goo because as ThePhoBlographer reports “this one-of-a-kind Leica M is going to be auctioned off at Sotheby’s on November 23rd, and the money will go to The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

And that’s very noble!

Samsung NX300M now officially launched!

Samsung announced the NX300M which adds a 180 degrees flip screen. The previous model had a 90 degrees flip screen. This is the only new feature of the camera. Not really a big story if you consider the competition is coming out with a X-E2 (FUji) and A7 Full Frame (Sony). I hope Samsung’s big stuff is coming soon too (maybe in Januray?).

World’s best and most expensive fisheye lens for sale for $79,200.00!

Mirrorless camera owners that want to own the best of all fisheye lens can be happy! Finally they can find one of the rarest and the absolute best lenses they can get, the Nikon 6mm f/2.8 Nikkor AI Fisheye Lens! Dealsrunner.com spotted one very rare copy for sale now on . From the pictures on the auction site you don’t see how big this lens is. That’s why I included the video on top. Watch it…it’s a massive lens! Can you imagine that one on a Panasonic GF camera? LOL!

P.S.: Confess it, you never thought a fisheye lens could be that expensive ;)

Samsung’s new ISOCELL sensor for compact cameras and smartphones.

The Sony versus Samsung sensor war just got more interesting. Samsung (press here) just announced a new sensor tech named “ISOCELL”. The sensor perfomance is better than Sony BSI sensor tech used in most smartphones and compact cameras with smaller sensor (up to the RX100MII). Here you can see an image comparison between Sony’s BSI and Samsung’s ISOCELL sensors:

Now let’s see if Samsung will make a sort of RX100 camera with ISOCELL tech…

First “LensCamera” rumors from Samsung!

Sony created quite a buzz with their QX Lens Cameras! And obviously other giants from the electronics industry will try to catch up as soon as it gets. And here is a first rumor about a Samsung QX clone :)

We have been told that Samsung is making a first QX alike camera having those specs:
10x zoom starting 24mm (no information about aperture)
20mpx sensor
stabilization
full hd video recording
NFC, wifi connection

But I still don’t know if that “idea” of doing photography with a smartphone will become very popular. Looks more like a niche product for now…
