New Fuji X PRO 1 ISO samples (+ Adorama notification and crazy belgium price)

The french website Focus Numerique (Click here) posted his first short X PRO 1 ISO test. Keep in mind that they used a pre-production camera with non finalized firmware. The conclusion from the reviewer is that up to ISO 1.600 noise is almost invisible. At 3.200 ISO grain is very fine and there is a just a little color noise. A larger chromatic noise is only visible starting from 12.800 ISO. Focus Numerique writes that they are truly impressed by that result!

A couple of days ago another french website Zone Numérique (Click here) said the price for the Fuji X PRO 1 body would be 1590 Euro. Now a Belgium store (Click here) is causing me a light heart attack by taking preorders at 1850 Euro! Hope this is not the real final price! Other preorder options are actually asking you for ZERO money while waiting for the final price info: Expansys USA (Click here), Expansys Canada (Click here), Henrys Canada (Click here) .

And after Amazon US (Click here) and BHphoto (Click here) als Adorama (Click here) is offering a pure notification service.

X PRO 1 news roundup (via Fujirumors).
Cameralabs (Click here) X PRO 1 preview: “The Fujifilm X-Pro1 takes mirror-less ILCs to a higher ground than any company other than Leica has done to date. It unashamedly targets enthusiasts with an innovative sensor and viewfinder packed into a retro-styled body with nostalgic analogue controls and a choice of three high quality prime lenses at launch.”
Brian Lam from TheAtlantic (Click here) CES report: “This is the only gadget at the show that melts my heart every time I think about it. I want this more than anything else I’ve seen at the show, and I think I might get one over the also amazing Sony NEX-7 Camera, which is technically astounding but has a mediocre lens selection that is not worthy of a $1300 camera.

The X PRO 1 already won four prices! The CNET “Best of CES 2012” Best Camera; Popular Science “CES 2012 Product of the Future”; Popular Mechanics “CES 2012 Editor’s Choice Award”; Tom’s Guide “Best of CES 2012” (Source: Imaging Resource).

Black Friday deals: Fuji X100, Nikon 1 discounts.

Many reviewers argued that the new Nikon 1 cameras are too expensive. Good to hear that at least our US readers can enjoy a $50 discount on all Nikon 1 cameras! Check the list here at Amazon (Click here). And to learn more about the cameras read the two latest reviews:
Nikon 1 review at Neocamera (Click here): “Nikon really pushed things here, giving the V1 the smoothest and most seamless integration between stills and video on any digital camera to date. The V1 is always ready to shoot both images and video with an imperceptible lag and always previews the correct framing for both.
1 Nikkor 10mm f/2.8 – Review at Photozone (Click here): “Thus, ompared to the default kit zoom lens, the 1 Nikkor VR 10-30mm, the small pancake lens offers slightly superior performance, but in a much smaller and in addition more robust package. Unlike the zoom, however, the prime does not feature optical stabilization.

Also the price of the Fuji X100 is getting lower and lower. It’s now in Stock fo $1153 at Amazon (Click here). The camera just won the Design Award (Photographyblog)…again!

Fuji X100 price gets a bit lower in USA. Making space for the LX?

I still have no clue about the possible price of the upcoming Fuji LX interchangeable camera system. But the good news is that the Fuji X100 is now regularly in Stock worldwide and it already got it’s first small discount in some stores like Amazon (Click here).

Just a note: Fuji stated that the production of organic sensors is cheaper than the classic sensors. So the LX may not be not that more expensive than the Fuji X100? Let’s hope!

Thom Hogans guess about the new Fuji sensor (+ X100 in Stock).

First the good news for our US readers. After a long time the Fuji X100 is now in Stock at Amazon (Click here).

As you know yesterday Fuji announced the launch of a new mirrorless and interchangeable lens system for Spring 2012. I read Asian, European and American press releases and nowhere you can find any info about the sensor size. One of my Asian sources told me the sensor is definitely bigger than APS-C but he couldn’t unveil me the exact sensor size. Now let’s hope we can find some more info as soon as possible. I am really intrigued about that new Fuji system!

Meanwhile Thom Hogan wrote: “I’m still trying to fully decipher the materials from the Japanese press conference where Fujifilm made the announcement, but these things seem vaguely clear: (1) a new lens mount (i.e. not m4/3); (2) a larger than APS/DX sensor, but not as big as full frame/FX; (3) higher resolution and better noise handling than any existing FX sensor (which means more than 24mp and better than D3s); and (4) non-Bayer in nature.
