eBay Madness (Leica prototype lens, Nikon Stereo, and 100 year old cine camera).

Beside all these new cameras there are also an immense resource of uncommon and rare and sometimes very old cameras you can find an eBay. Here is a short roundup of all the craziest auctions:

1) 1:4/9 cm Elmar Lens with Prototype Ser. No. 1010100. Price yet:  .

.

2) There is a mirrorless camera that will cost you over 27.000 Euro! It’s the Nikon Rangefinder 3,5/3,5cm Stereo. .

.

3) If you want to know what’s the most expensive camera on auction than look at that 100 year old film camera, the BELL & HOWELL 2709. Price yet: .

Funny that unlike digital cameras film cameras retain and if you are lucky sometimes grow in value! So rather spend your money on a good lens than on expensive digital cameras.

Update: Download Adobe Creative Suite 2 For Free

Update3: This comes from imaging-resource:

Here’s what Issacs wrote on Adobe’s community forum following the reports.

“On behalf of Adobe Systems Incorporated …

You have heard wrong! Adobe is absolutely not providing free copies of CS2!

What is true is that Adobe is terminating the activation servers for CS2 and that for existing licensed users of CS2 who need to reinstall their software, copies of CS2 that don’t require activation but do require valid serial numbers are available. (Special serial numbers are provided on the page for each product download.) See <http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1114930>.

You are only legally entitled to download and install with that serial number if you have a valid license to the product!”

Update2: the download link appears to be still alive. Just tried it out. Don’t know what is going on.

Update: To good to be true! According to diyphotography, which cites Adobe support forum, the download was never meant to be free. The download page was meant for photographers who bought CS2, but needed to reactivate it. The download link has now been disabled.

Adobe’s CS2 suite can be downloaded for free. Click here to download. Serial numbers are provided with the download links. You have to be registered to Adobe (it’s free) to make the download. Mac (PowerPc) and Windows versions.

First time in Stock: Sony RX1. And rumors about FF NEX growing every day…

The Sony RX1 now finally is in Stock at Amazon (Click here). This is a little gem camera but don’t know how many will buy it knowing that Sony may release a FF NEX in 10-12 months. According to rumors we got Sony is indeed developing an E-mount Full Frame camera.
Anyway, the RX1 strengths are
1) the super compact size (doubt it you can make it so small with an interchangeable E-mount).
2) Sensor-Lens optimization
3) Leaf shutter (silent operation). This also is not going to be a feature of future FF NEX cameras.

Now let’s hope to get some specs about that FF NEX any time soon!

New Jackar 34mm f/1.8 for sale on eBay.

The new Jackar 34mm f/1.8 lens for E-Mount or MFT-mount is now for the first time in Stock via eBay (Click here). As we have learned this isn’t really a completely newly designed lens. They rather took the classic C-mount 35mm f/1.7 lens and tweaked it by changing material, adding a lens and making it use a native E or MFT mount. You can read more about the lens at Snapshooter.jackarlens.com. Image samples are on Flickr.
